Why Deb Donnell Prefers & Recommends Site Build It!
In 2006 I was looking for a way to cheaply self-publish and promote my writing via the internet.During my research I came across Ken Evoy's Site Sell Inc. website, which explained about his website building program, Site Build It! It didn't take me long to see the value this website building system offers. It is so comprehensive and really simple. The various Site Sell resources teach you every step of the way how to find your niche, pick a domain name, get a keyword list together, and optimise your website so that no only do the search engines full in love with you, but so do your visitors). They even teach you how to make serious money from what you love doing! Ken Evoy and the Site Sell team really want you to succed at eBusiness. They want you to be able to quit your day job and focus fully on doing the very things you love. Before you think I've been 'brainwashed' into promoting Ken Evoy's website building system, I'll tell you about my other website building experiences.
Why You Should Avoid Website Do-It-For-You Companies
It sounds great, doesn't it? Someone else Does-It-All-For-You. A "professional" website designer takes all the stress and worry from you and does all the technical stuff. All you need to do is provide a brief, and maybe some images and content. Well, this is so far from reality I recommend that you don't even start down that road. I was helping a friend out with his business, and he decided that hiring "professionals" to build a website for us was the way to go. Well, we had to provide all the written content, and the design layout, and even then the "professional" designer didn't follow our directions. Frustrated, I set up a meeting with him, and discovered he was a teenage university student, who had about 2 hours a week to work on our website. He was being paid about $15 an hour, and we were being charged $100! Plus, the kid didn't have a clue what he was doing. He was using a FREE website template called Joomla!. He couldn't spell, and he couldn't understand our very clearly explained brief or follow any instructions for changes. I had already been using the Site Build It! system for a while, so I figured I knew a thing or two about websites by now. I got our "professional" website student to give me the sign in details and waded around the admin area of my friend's website. It was confusing. It took me ages to work out how to find my way around, and there was no support, not help information. I was finally coming to grips with Joomla! when the worst case scenario happened. On the eve of my friend launching his invention, someone hacked into the Joomla! templated website and it got destroyed. Disaster! We then found out, from spending hours doing our own research into Joomla! that we needed to upgrade the template to a secure, protected sign in for the admin area. This so called "professional" website design company had not disclosed any of this information. They were happy to charge us $100 an hour for something that cost them only $15 per hour in wages. Unbelieveable!! Needless to say, we severed our relationship with this company and refused to pay the bill.
Surely That's A One Off Bad Experience?
Nope!I recommended Ken Evoy's SBI! to my friend, but unfortunately he wouldn't listen. He figured we didn't have the time or money to put into building a website ourselves. So he went off and hired another young website designer. This one worked full time for a reputable "professional" website design company, but agreed to build it out of hours, as part of a barter deal. The trouble was, he didn't have many spare hours out of work hours. Then, he got made redundant from his job, so we were left with a website sitting on his ex-employer's server, that he couldn't get access to. After some negotiation, his ex-employer agreed to take over the design and maintenance of the website, under supervision of my friend's graphic designer, who had put all the branding together for the product. Now, in an ideal world, where you have an endless amount of marketing dollar, this would have worked. It was a pretty website, but to be honest, absolutely non-functional. It hasn't even been search engine optimised with good keywords. And we can't access the administration area ourselves, so if we want to make any changes or add pages... it's going to cost my friend. Plus, once again, I've been left to write and edit the content on the page. It's amazing how badly these "professional" website designers spell... or perhaps it's typos?
Enter Site Build It!
After these failed attempts, I decided to pay for and build a information based website myself, using the Site Build It! System. And after a few short weeks, my friend admitted that it was a superior site to the professional ones in every way. He even sent out an email to his entire list, telling them to check out HIS new website! We now link from his "professionally" designed website through to my Site Build It! one. And I'm even getting people at the top levels of his target market linking to it, and directing their colleagues to it as well. I now actually own Four Site Build It! Websites. They are so much fun to build and share with people, and the feedback I get keeps me motivated.
